A very busy start to the new year in Plymouth, and Christmas seems such long time ago already. I’ve been working hard to shape the national defence on issues like our health service, defence spending and infrastructure in Plymouth. We are a brilliant City, pioneering different ways of doing things in a modern Britain – evidenced by our choice as a trial for the 100% Business Rates Retention trial by the local Authority that starts in April this year – and I am determined to keep breaking ground as we continue the fastest growth and development Plymouth has ever seen into 2018.
Whilst the headlines get dominated by Defence again, we’ve worked hard this week on PIP for Mental Health sufferers, and spent some time questioning Jeremy Hunt on the future of the NHS too. Take a look at my Youtube to catchup.
I love weeks like this where I can really stand up and represent your views in Westminster – really being your voice at the table and watching national issues change, like Defence this week. But undoubtedly the best part is coming home, and I am holding a drop in, no appointment required surgery on Friday in St. Anne’s Church in Glenholt – all are more than welcome and I will stay until I have seen everybody.
Hopefully see you there.
