Speaking after the event, Johnny Mercer MP said:
‘I offer my sincere congratulations to The Wrigley Company for their Green Achievement Award, Plessey Semiconductors Ltd as finalists for Manufacturer of the Year and Innovation of the Year Award, and to Jonathan Catney as finalist for the Young Businessperson of the Year.
‘To win one of these prestigious Awards, where businesses are nominated from across Devon and Cornwall, is a fantastic achievement for The Wrigley Company. They lead the way in their field and I am delighted they have been recognised for their commitment to the environment.
‘Jonathan Catney’s nomination as Young Businessman of the Year highlights the calibre of young business people in the city. Having graduated from Plymouth University, young people like Jonathan are exactly the sort of talent I am working hard to keep in the city.
‘I was also delighted that my friend, Sir Fix-A-Lock, got a special mention from the judges for his dementia awareness work in Plymouth.
‘Plymouth is a great city, and businesses large and small across my constituency and the city as a whole, are the crucial to the future.’
