Plymouth Moor View MP, Johnny Mercer, has reacted to the news from NHS England about the future of the GP Surgery in Ernesettle and a possible surgery in Barne Barton.
Following the news that Access Health Care will remain as interim providers of the GP service in Ernesettle, Johnny said:
“This is great news for the residents of Ernesettle and the surrounding areas who rely on Ernesettle Medical Centre on Ernesettle Green. I am pleased that the work done by NHS England to secure the GP service in Ernesettle has resulted in Access Health Care being retained as interim provider. I remain confident that NHS England will be able to find a long term provider to ensure that the community retains its own local health care provision.
“I will continue to work with NHS England to ensure that this practice is sustainable into the future.’
Much work has also been done to establish a GP practice in Barne Barton. Whilst to date, no surgery provider has been identified, NHS England have confirmed that they will continue to pursue this, as well as looking at other options for providing other models of GP care in the community.
Speaking about the provision of GP services in Barne Barton, Johnny said:
“I am pleased that NHS England continue to pursue the possibility of providing GP services in Barne Barton. I remain supportive of their work with the community to make the offer of providing services in Barne Barton as attractive as possible and will continue to work to promote the efforts being made.”
