PLANNING APPLICATION REFUSED IN TAMERTON FOLIOT
I’m delighted that today a planning application for 65 houses on the edge of Tamerton Foliot has been refused.
Whilst there is clearly a need for additional housing in Plymouth, this development was on an inappropriate site, just outside the Plymouth border, and would have a very real impact on Plymouth City residents in Tamerton Foliot.
It is fantastic news and testament to the incredible efforts made by the village to fight this development. I am pleased to have worked with Friends of Tamerton Foliot and the Tamerton Foliot Village Conservation Society in opposing this development. The fact over 400 local residents formally objected also sent a very clear message to local planners.
Whilst it’s highly likely the developers will appeal this decision, clearly the local community is a strong force and the fight will continue.
